Talking Heads

Our author programme is bigger than ever in 2008 and will be kicking off in Februrary with two very special events.

Firstly, on library lovers day (14th February), we are very lucky to have an evening with Sugarbabe author Holly Hill. Sugarbabe is Holly's account of the emails, meetings with hundreds of men who applied to become her sugar daddy and provides a thought provoking view of love, sex and marriage in our throwaway society.

Then on Thursday 21st February Hugh Mackay, one of Australia's best known social commentators will be visiting to discuss his latest books "advance Australia where" and "Little Lies". Hugh Mackay is a regular columist for the Age and regularly appears on television and radio. Hugh is a very entertaining speaker so this is definitely an evening not to miss.

As usual, these events are free however bookings are essential, so please phone 46454444 to secure your seat.

The author talks commence at 6.30 pm and refreshments will be served.

Our new web catalogue is up and running and you can give it a try at http://www2.campbelltown.nsw.gov.au/LIBERO/WebOpac.cls . There are lots of new features including "browse clouds" and popular search links. Soon we will be implementing a range of web 2 services including tagging and linking so you can make the catalogue even more specific to your needs.

Book Clubs & Reading Groups

Have you ever wanted to be part of a book club or a reading group?

We're planning to introduce book clubs and would like to invite anyone who's interested in participating in them to register their interest.

Book clubs are a great way of reading new books and meeting people. The clubs will meet in the library on last wednesday of each month and be limited in size to about 10 readers. We supply the books and some discussion notes and all you have to do is read and come along to the meetings.

The first meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 25th July starting at 6.30 pm at the HJ Daley Library. You'll be reading Thomas Keneally's latest book "The widow and her hero".

If you can't make that time, but still want to be involved, register your interest and any other details and we'll try and schedule a group that suits you.

To register your interest call David or Carolyn on 46454415.
